Therapeutic Foster ProgramThe Kenai Peninsula Community Care Center believes that all children benefit from services provided in a home-like environment. Therapeutic foster care is an alternative to institutional care, group residential care and incarceration. It is the least restrictive and most integrated out-of-home placement for many children and youth.
Our target population for therapeutic foster placement are children/adolescents under the age of 21 with severe mental emotional and/or behavioral health needs who cannot be stabilized in a less intensive home setting and who have a current SED (severe emotional disturbance) diagnosis. Our staff and foster families have many years of experience with working with small children as well as adolescents with a range of maladaptive or inappropriate behaviors.
